SHORT STORY OF DODONG TIPID
How Dodong Tipid became Dodong Tipid
Early Life
When I was a child, my parents encouraged us(me and my sister) to save money. My mother bought 2 piggy banks for us to put our savings in it, and she also opened us a savings account in the bank so that by the time the piggy banks are full, she can deposit it to our accounts in the bank.
During my birthdays and Christmas days, my parents, my uncles and my aunts would give me presents, and if not, they would give me money instead. Then I immediately put it in my piggy bank so that I won't be able to spend it. I am very happy, because at an early age I was able to build the habit of saving money and not too attached to toys or any material things.

High School and College Life
During my high school life, of course my allowance increased. I was able to save much more compared to my early life. But there are a lot of temptations, especially food and computer games. And in my college life, my allowance also increased.
During 3rd year college, that was the time that we had a seminar about the Philippine Stock Market in our school and there are 4 speakers. One of them was Prof. Jay Peñaflor. I was amazed and very interested in that seminar. But after months, another opportunity came. My classmate introduced me to a networking business, so together with my classmates, we went to an OPP(opportunity plan presentation) of that networking business. I was really encouraged to join because it was a good opportunity.
This was the first OPP:
This was the second OPP:
I told my parents about this, but they weren't convinced, they told me not to pursue it because of many reasons. That night was a very long conversation and in the end I didn't join. But that OPP taught me many things, especially in business that we shouldn't stay as employees, we should be an entrepreneur, businessman and a job provider.
Months later, I still continued saving money and during that month, a seminar happened in Davao(JCFAP Financial Literacy Caravan), it's all about investing in the stock market, and that seminar taught me many things especially coming from one of the speakers, the CEO of Investagrams, Mr. JC Bisnar. And because of those happenings in my life, I changed the way I think, having the investor mindset and the business mindset. Now I am currently investing in the stock market, and I am planning to diversify in different investments, read more books, magazines, etc. My goal is to grow our business into a big corporation. I thank my mother, my sister, my family for always supporting me especially to my father for not giving up on me, for teaching me and for inspiring me. And I also thank God for the wonderful experience.
I hope you will continue to read and visit my blog, I will be sharing some of my knowledge in terms of saving, investing, and maybe I could share to you some of my E-books. Let's change the way you think and your mindset into an investor/business minded person. I am willing to help you and together let's achieve financial freedom!
